Graveside service for Mr. Michael Thomas, 58, of Marvyn, AL will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Marvyn, AL. Rev. Demetri Tolbert will officiate. Mr. Thomas passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Mobile, AL. Early in life, he joined Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. Later, he was baptized at St. James Holiness Church in Dadeville, AL. Many will remember him by his wood designs and carpentry work. Public viewing will be held Friday from 3:00-5:00 pm. He is survived by: his mother, Alma Rene Thomas of Opelika, AL; his wife, Norma Thomas of Opelika, AL; two daughters, Brittany (Jock) Lakes of Lanett, AL and Tyneshia Dowdell of Auburn, AL; two stepdaughters, Santana (Logan) Mitchell and Shandreca (Michael) Williams both of Opelika, AL; four grandchildren, Josie Lakes, Vaniya Jefferson, Zariah Dowdell and Gray Williams; four sisters, Veronica Thomas, Patricia Ann Moore, Delliah T. Jones and Mary Jean (Billy) Frazier all of Opelika, AL; one brother, Larry L. (Mary) Thomas of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
