Mr. Alfred L. Lyles Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Graveside service for Mr. Alfred LeNard “Leo” Lyles, 72, of Opelika, AL will be held at 11:30 AM (cst) Friday, January 8, 2021 Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Rev. Anthony Pogue will officiate. Mr. Lyles passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Smith Station, AL. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Mr. Lyles graduated from JW Darden High School in 1966. Following graduation, he enrolled at Tennessee State University and was drafted into the US Air Force. Upon completing his tour of duty, he enrolled and graduated from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH. For several years, he was employed with DFAS in Chicago, IL. Public viewing will be held Thursday from 1:00-3:00 pm. He is survived by: one daughter, Shamika Lyles of Anniston, OH; three grandchildren, Kenneth McLain, Zondrea Yates and Omarion Stanford; one great grandchild, Eliza June Elston; two sisters, Audrea Stitt-Newbold of Glen Allen, VA and Alanna Stitt-McDaniel of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Michael Stitt of Louisville, KY, Bertram Stitt of Chicago, IL and Cordell Stitt of Louisville, KY; special cousin, Annice Johnson of Smith Station, AL; stepfather, GeHugh Stitt, Jr. of Opelika, AL; aunt, Catherine Dawkins of Somerville, MA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
