Mr. Isiah "Jack" Wright Jr.

Mr. Isiah "Jack" Wright, Jr. was born on January 4, 1960, to Isiah Wright, Sr. and Jennie Crawford Wright at the Lee County Hospital in Opelika, Alabama. He had a "Village" that played an important role in his rearing - his Father, Grandmother (Ellen Wright), Aunt (Viola Wright Alford) along with several other Aunts and an Uncle. At an early age, he joined the Bell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. E. W. Ellis. Isiah attended Auburn City Schools and was a member of the Auburn High School Class of 1978. He was an athlete and displayed his best abilities as a track star. He did participate in other sports. Isiah was an avid outdoorsman!! You could always find him outside doing what he loved the most - hunting and fishing. He started fishing as a boy with his Father and Uncle AC Wright!! He passed the love on to his son - Joshua. Fishing was a family outing which included some of his siblings and cousins. His first Hunting Club was the Macon County Hunting Club. He had several hunting buddies but would hunt mostly with Clyde Cook, Rodney Dorsey, Lamont Henderson, Randy Hill, Jerry McRae II, and Tim Smith. Isiah started his work career as a teenager with Auburn University's War Eagle Cafeteria. After high school, he was employed with Uniroyal Tires in Opelika, Alabama. Later, he worked with The Shipyard and R & R Seafood in Mobile, Alabama. He had a passion for animals, especially bulldogs and riding horses. Isiah and his friend - Frank Seal, shared an interest in their bulldogs. Isiah was an AUSOME Auburn football fan!! You could find him outside watching the game with many friends who might have stopped by to cheer on the Auburn Tigers and holler - "WAR EAGLE"! Other times as you drove by the house on Foster Street, you would see him in the yard hanging out, enjoying fellowship, and keeping "the light" burning. Early on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, he departed this life at home with love ones around him. Preceding Isiah in death, his mother and father, Jennie Pearl Crawford Wright and Isiah Wright, Sr.; his grandparents, John Henry and Ellen Wright. Isiah leaves behind the following to honor and cherish his memories: seven (7) children - Keshonda Ogletree, Opelika, AL; Tenesha (Gregory) Carter, Montgomery, AL; Joshua Isiah Wright, Montgomery, AL; Jenna Louise Wright, Montgomery, AL; Jakera Wright, Montgomery, AL; Terrance Hill, Chattanooga, TN, and Matthew Wright, Auburn, AL. Nine (9) siblings - Carolyn Wright, Auburn, AL; Violet Wright (Freddie) Henderson, Montgomery, AL; John Henry (Kimberly) Wright, Riverdale, GA; Myron (Yolanda) Wright, Forest Park, GA; Angelia Allen, Eastpoint, GA; Joann (Gregory Gary) Wright, Decatur, GA; Louvonia (Elliott) Gould, Pearland, TX; Johnny Phillips, Jr., Auburn, AL; and Rolahac (Alberta) Phillips, Sr., Auburn, AL. Two (2) aunts - Estella Dunn and Marjorie Wright, both of Auburn, AL. Ten (10) grandchildren -Greyson and Hayden Carter; Khylan Wright; Saint Smith; D'Andre, Makia, Qua'Mir, Jo'Quan, Joseph, and Venora Ogletree. Special cousins - Trenier Wright, Amberly Wright-Thurman, Michael Dunn, Erick Dunn, Stanford Dunn, Pamela Crawford, and Vanessa Adams. Nephews at heart - Michael Benford (caregiver), Darian "Shunk" Yancy, DeQuin Wright, Jerry McRae II, Robert Johnson, Terrance (T.O.) Story, and Luqman Moore. Other Nieces and Nephews - Tara Wright, NaKeshia Wright, DeQuan Wright, Tacorya Wright, RaShunda Wright (Ken) Davenport, Shimone Wright, Shawn Ogletree, Justus Davis, and Kyle Davis. Special Friends - Michael Ambus, Everett Debrow, Jr., Jeffery Hutchinson, Harold Reese, Tommy Threat, Danny Watson, Willie Welch, Joe Wright, and a host of many other dear friends.
