Mrs. Henrietta Lockett Thomas

Henrietta was born October 26, 1937 in Opelika, Alabama to the parents of Rev. Willie and Lena Lockett. She was the youngest of two girls. On March 11, 2026, God granted Henrietta Lockett Thomas transition from this life to life eternal. Henrietta was a proud graduate of the McCray School of Business at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama. With determination and grace, she began her professional journey at Carver Elementary School, where she served faithfully for six years. She later continued her career as a bookkeeper for Herbert Orr, owner and proprietor of Orrox Corporation in Opelika, Alabama, where she worked diligently for another six years. After the closing of Orrox Corporation, Henrietta joined Diversified Products Corporation, where she dedicated 20 years of outstanding service. During her tenure, she held several important roles, including cost analysis and accounts receivable. Her strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. In 1983, after retiring from Diversified Products, Henrietta embraced a new chapter of life by attending Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. There she obtained her real estate license and went on to serve as a Realtor with Century 21 in Opelika and later with Associates Realty Company. She approached this new venture with the same passion and commitment that defined every stage of her life. Henrietta's life was firmly rooted in faith. She was raised in the Church of God, where her father, the Reverend Willie Lockett, faithfully served as pastor. Following in that legacy of service, Henrietta remained an active and devoted member of the church throughout her life. She served faithfully as Secretary and Bookkeeper for the Eastern District Conference and found great joy in supporting the work of the church. A woman of compassion and generosity, Henrietta believed deeply in giving back to her community. She served through volunteer work and participated on several boards, always seeking ways to uplift others and improve the community she loved. She was a proud member of The Red Hat Society. Her kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Henrietta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore K. Thomas; her parents, Reverend Willie and Lena Lockett; her only sister, Willie Ruth Mindingall and her grandson, Terence K. Thomas II. Surviving her departure with cherish memories are: Zilpah Thomas Winsley of Opelika, Alabama; Delcan Thomas Brown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Theodora Thomas (Horye) Flowers of Auburn, Alabama; Terence Kynette (Tamela) Thomas of Roswell, Georgia and Helena Thomas (Clarence) Duncan of Montgomery, Alabama She was also the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and the loving great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love continues through a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Olivia Buchanon, NaTonya L. Buchanon, Precious Dowdell and Joyce Carwell for the compassionate care, kindness, and love they provided during her illness. The family also gratefully acknowledges Enhabit Home Health & Hospice for their devoted care and support. Henrietta's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, service, and love. Her gentle spirit, wise counsel, and enduring strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on.
